Thanks to all who helped us bring smiles,
clothing & toys to the 475 students
at John G. Carlisle Elementary
during the 2009 Christmas Holiday Season.
Santa's visit was a huge success....

As many of you know, Julie's Inspiration Consignment Shoppe has adopted John G. Carlisle Elementary School once again for the 2010 year.  Your continued support and contributions throughout this year will go a long way in helping to insure that we can continue a tradition which we all can be proud of.

It all started when we decided to adopt Thomas Edison Elementary School, back in 2007.  At the time, Thomas Edison Elementary was one of the poorest schools in Northern Kentucky, not only in state & local funding, but also in the demographics that it served.  Located at 17th & Scott Streets, the school served some of Covington's most impoverished neighborhoods. Most of the schools 245 or so students where from households that were at or below poverty level standards with many of the children actually classified as "homeless". Santa made the rounds again during the 2008 Christmas season, first for a "Breakfast with Santa, held in his honor in early December, and then a return visit two weeks later to fulfill the christmas wishes the children had given him. Thomas Edison was forced to close due to budgetary constraints in early 2009 and the school was merged with John G. Carlisle and it's newer, state-of-the-art facility.  Many of the students at Thomas Edison now attend John G. and so it was only natural that we continue the tradition at their new school.  With the merger came new faces and Santa's list grew, doubling in size from 245 excited kids to nearly 500.

For many of the children, this is the only visit they receive from Santa during the holidays so we try to make it a special one.  Each child receives a toy wrapped by Santa's elves and a one-on-one moment with Santa. When we started this monumental task back in 2007, little did we know that it would grow to this extent and be as rewarding for us as it is for all of the kids on Santa's list.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF OUR CONSIGNORS, CUSTOMERS AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY INCLUDING
THE LOCAL ROTARY CLUB & WALMART
FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT.

LET'S KEEP IT UP...PLEASE CONTINUE TO DROP YOUR CHANGE IN THE JOHN G. JAR
ON THE COUNTER AT THE SHOP.

THANKS............JULIE & JOE
